Birdsall, Ausburn
Birdsall, Ausburn, a Representative from New York; born in Otego, Otsego County, N.Y.; moved to Binghamton, Broome County, N.Y.; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced; district attorney of Broome County; elected as a Democrat to the Thirtieth Congress (March 4, 1847-March 3, 1849); appointed United States naval storekeeper in New York City; returned to Binghamton, N.Y., and resumed the practice of law until 1890, when he retired and moved to New York City, where he resided until his death July 10, 1903; interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, New York City.
