Rathbun, George Oscar
Rathbun, George Oscar, a Representative from New York; born in Scipioville, near Auburn, N.Y., in 1803; attended the Auburn schools and was graduated from Hamilton College; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Auburn; member of the State assembly; elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-eighth and Twenty-ninth Congresses (March 4, 1843-March 3, 1847); resumed the practice of his profession; died in Auburn, Cayuga County, N.Y., January 5, 1870; interment in Fort Hill Cemetery.
