Historical SummaryUnder League auspices there was compiled an interesting table to illustrate in figures the effect of the sanctions upon Italian trade. These sanctions, imposed under Article 16 of the League Covenant, went into effect on November 18, 1935 (marked in Italy by the flying of flags), and were withdrawn on July 15, 1936. They did not apply to oil.
