Naturalization Act (1795)

Naturalization Act (29 January 1795) Congress amended the Naturalization Act (1790) by increasing the residency period to five years, and obliged aliens to declare their intention to seek citizenship three years before taking the necessary oath to renounce their homeland and any hereditary titles.
