Vincent, Bird J.

Vincent, Bird J., a Representative from Michigan; born near Clarkston, Oakland County, Mich., March 6, 1880; attended the public schools of Oakland and Midland Counties and Ferris Institute; was graduated from the law department of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1905; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Saginaw; assistant prosecuting attorney of Saginaw County 1909-1914 and prosecuting attorney from 1915 to 1917, when he resigned to enter the Army; during the First World War served ten months in France as first lieutenant of the Sixth Train Headquarters and in the Three Hundred and Second Train Headquarters; city attorney of Saginaw 1919-1923; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-eighth and to the four succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1923, until his death July 18, 1931, on board the transport Henderson, while en route to the United States from Honolulu, Hawaii; interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Mich.
