Eckert, Charles Richard, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., January 20, 1868; attended the public schools, Piersol’s Academy at West Bridgewater, Pa., and Geneva College at Beaver Falls, Pa.; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1894 and commenced practice in Beaver, Pa., the same year; delegate to the Democratic National Convention at Houston in 1928; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and Seventy-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1935-January 3, 1939); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1938 to the Seventy-sixth Congress; resumed the practice of law and is a resident of Beaver, Pa.
