General SummaryThis case is from a collection containing the full text of over 16,000 Supreme Court cases from 1793 to the present. The body of Supreme Court decisions are, effectively, the final interpretation of the Constitution. Only an amendment to the Constitution can permanently overturn an interpretation and this has happened only four times in American history.

APPEAL FROM THE COURT OF APPEALS
OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Syllabus
Equitable titles are subject to devise, and if not specifically bequeathed, form part of the residuary estate.
One of the objects of a residuary clause is to gather up unremembered, as well as uncertain, rights, and the words "all the rest and residue of my estate, real, personal and mixed, which I now possess or which may hereafter be acquired by me" are sufficient to carry an equitable estate.
33 App.D.C. 391 affirmed.
The facts are stated in the opinion.
