Rodham Clinton, Hillary (b. Park Ridge, Ill., 26 October 1947) Married to William Clinton in 1975, Hillary Rodham Clinton practiced law in Little Rock, Ark., and headed state committees on rural health services and educational standards. In 1993 she became chair of the US Task Force on National Health Reform, and supervised the drafting of the Clinton administration’s legislation to reform medical insurance and provide universal health care. This legislation was defeated after a bitter congressional struggle in 1994.
