Kennedy, William, a Representative from Connecticut; born in Naugatuck, New Haven County, Conn., December 19, 1854; attended the public schools; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1879 and commenced practice at Naugatuck, Conn.; member of the State senate 1899-1901; delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 1896, 1900, 1908, and 1912; member of the Board of Education of Naugatuck 1901-1918; attorney for the town and borough of Naugatuck 1893-1918; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third Congress (March 4, 1913-March 3, 1915); was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1914; resumed the practice of his profession; died in Naugatuck, Conn., on June 19, 1918; interment in St. James’ Cemetery.
