Lewis Carroll

Lewis Carroll
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832-January 14, 1898), widely known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, and photographer. His most famous works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and the sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871). As a poet he is remembered chiefly for "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky." He was gifted at word play and logic, and had a mind for fantasy. Carroll was a gifted and successful mathematician. Between publishing his works in mathematical journals, he worked at Christ Church to help support his family as he wrote non-mathematical works.
